Oran Alduby was a big help to us, the fact that he could only get in contact with us was with the help of the TMen and their web site.
My computer was down and Oran had lost my phone number, so first and foremost I am extremely grateful to them, if it was not for your site it would have been a very costly trip for all of us.
It cost the Glenmen who made the trip £1000 upwards, and for any supporter it is a lot of money to hand out the way thing are at the minute.
Ok, back to Oran.
We arrived in Israel around tea time Monday and Oran was waiting in the airport with a Glens scarf around his neck.
Oran had sorted out transport for 18 of us to the hotel where he had obtained very good discount on the rooms, sorted out buses from Tel Aviv to Haifa, had got us cheap beer and food set up in the Buzz Stop, sorted out a trip for 20 to go and visit Masada National Park, Jerusalem and Palestine. What a trip, and on top of all this Oran took 4 days off work to be with us. On the Tuesday night he invited Hutchie and myself into his home for a meal with his family.
Oran spent time with every Glentoran man and Woman at one point and was there to sort out any problems that might arise.
It was nice to see our Chairman Aubry Ralph taking time to go into the crowd before the match and shake hands with Oran, Aubry remembered Oran from eleven years ago when they first met.
Oran has been a true Glenman from that day when we first met him at a beer festival with 10,000 people, where he spotted the Glens shirt.
Oran spent his youth in late 70’s early 80’s in East Belfast looking after Israeli’s who worked in a Kibbutz in Isreal.
Oran and I have kept in touch for the past 11years and 4 years ago we had him down to the Ballymac for a night out.
Oran is the one getting interviewed in from of the Ulster flag.
Oran is a very good friend, and a Glenman through and through.
